Human interaction is the basis of all that goes on around us. Family, friendships, business, employment – the list is endless.
The current situation is proof of the solidarity amongst all humans on planet Earth. A pandemic has brought us together like nothing else did. Countries are cooperating and distributing medicine and aid amongst each other. Economies are helping themselves and others pick up and recover.
Common people are standing by each other’s side to provide support and sustenance. Yes, people have lost employment, but then they have received new opportunities as well. Some engineer started selling chai, a family lost their home as they could not pay the home loan EMIs, so they took their 6 seater car and are now living a travelling life, and quite a few others got into a field which they were passionate about.
We are all in this together. There are innumerable employers who did not sacrifice a single employee during this crisis. I work for one such organization. Clients are asking business about how they are doing and if everyone at home is safe. Only post this, the professional talks start. If work gets delayed or someone falls sick, the situation is treated with due sensitivity instead of the earlier attitude of making a sick employee feel guilty of going on leave.
We have all become more health conscious. We have all realised the importance of work-life balance. We are appreciating our families and the fact that we do have a job, more than ever before. It took a single virus to bring together entire humanity to its knees.
And as our knees touch the ground, we look to the sky and pray. We learnt humility and gratitude. We learnt that the world doesn’t revolve around us. We are becoming more aware and responsible.
Keep the solidarity strong. Keep the mind positive. We will all come out of this together. United, we stand.
